DEPOSITS & PAYMENTS

  • Your initial deposit (min. 50%) reserves your event date and is non-refundable/non-transferable. View Frequently Asked Questions for more details). It is required to consider this an active order, and a contract for services to be rendered by Alpha-Omega Events on your behalf.

  • We must receive the remaining balance by the due date indicated on your invoice (normally 1 week prior to the event date, delivery or pick-up, whichever comes first) or contract may be considered null & void. In this case, the deposit will not be refunded. Should we decide to maintain your order [even after the missed deadline], a late payment fee may apply & the Client agrees to pay this amount before work begins. Orders placed within 7 days of the event date (for cake products; 3 weeks for event services) are non-refundable (no exceptions). Late orders may also be subject to a rush fee.

  • Payments must be received by the date given, or contract will be void for non-payment of fees and the client will be responsible for making other arrangements for a cake/services.

CANCELLATIONS, REFUNDS & EXCHANGES

  • If an order is cancelled, the deposit amount of the cake/event cost is non-refundable/non-transferable. All other monies paid to us, will be refunded to the client, less ANY and ALL expenses incurred in the making of the product or preparation of services, up to the date the cancellation was made (in writing to us).

  • Custom-designed products are created individually for each client; there will be no refunds or store credits on such products under any circumstances.

CHANGES TO ORDERS

  • Any and all changes requested to an order cannot be guaranteed and will be subject to additional charges (amendment fee) for each change made. Changes made within 3 weeks for wedding cakes (2 weeks for events & 7 non-business days for special occasions) will be subject to an additional late amendment fee. This fee amount will be determined beforehand so the Client have the opportunity to either accept or reject the changes. If they reject the fees, the changes requested will not be accommodated.

  • Delivery and setup fees are determined by distance traveled and service(s) rendered, respectively. If the Client or Venue Contact is not at the venue upon delivery, up to but no more than 3 attempts to contact the client will be made. If the Client cannot be reached or an alternate arrangement made, the product(s) will return with us and it will be the Client's responsibility to pick up their ourder at our earliest avaialbility. Refunds/exchages will not be given in this case.

  • Should the Client, for whatever reason, reject the delivery or not show-up for pick-up during their assigned window, the product(s) will return with us and it will be the Client's responsibility to pick up their ourder at our earliest avaialbility. All fees paid for products/services will not be refunded.

  • We are not responsible for any damage to the cake/event pieces after set-up is complete (or product is picked up by the client/representative).  You are responsible for providing an appropriate and secure table/environment for the cake(s).  Cakes are heavy and require a sturdy table, and optimal room temperature of 23ºC or below.

  • Wedding cakes and some tiered/sculpted special occasion cakes MUST be delivered by an Alpha-Omega Events representative to ensure its safe delivery. However, if you (or your designate/representative) elect to pick up and set up the cake yourself, you, the Client, must sign a waiver and will assume ALL liability and responsibility for the condition of the cake once it leaves the possession of Alpha-Omega Events.

Cake Care Tips (for pick-up)

All cakes are professionally constructed with internal supports to carry the cake’s own weight and tolerate some mild to moderate motion I.e. transport in a car or to and from the fridge. Here are some ways to ensure your cake is handled with the utmost care.

Transport

  1. Place your cake in an upright position on a flat surface - not your lap or on the seat. The floor of the car in the back seat is the best place

  2. Never put your cake products in the trunk or place items on top of your cake box.

  3. Drive carefully and at a moderate speed to ease breaking. Abrupt stop-and-go-motion may increase the likelihood of damage to your cake products.

  4. Keep the inside temperature of the vehicle at 23 degrees Celsius or cooler.

Set-Up

  1. A sturdy and level table should be provided for cake products.

  2. The temperature of the venue should be at a moderate 23 degrees Celsius or cooler.

  3. If your event is outdoors, bring your cake out 25-45 minutes before serving, depending on the temperature and humidex that day.

  4. Always keep cake products out of direct sunlight as this may cause melting or sweating of the cake.

  5. Keep away from all sources of heat.

Storage

  1. Store in a refrigerator (not freezer, unless specified by your Cake Artist) and bring out ½-1hr before serving (for outdoor event 25-45mins). A moderately cool temperature is best. Check your refrigerator settings before picking up your cake product and adjust as necessary.

  2. After your event, your cake may be stored in the refrigerator again but should be consumed with 24-48 hours from your event date. It is highly recommended that you consume all cake products on the day of your event (Tip: send extras home with your guests!)

Attention!

  1. If the Client/Venue Contact or designate is not at the venue upon the set delivery time, cake products will be left at the venue. Alpha-Omega Events will not be responsible for them thereafter.

  2. Cake transport is not easy and we highly recommend that it is done by professionals. If the Client or designate elects to pick up their cake, a waiver must be signed and the Client assumes ALL liability and responsibility for the condition of the cake once it leaves the possession of Alpha-Omega Events.

  3. We are not responsible for any damage to the cake after set-up is complete, or the product is picked up by the Client/Designate; Refunds will not be given for damage done to the cake once it is in the possession of the Client.

  4. Our products may contain or come in contact with milk, wheat, nuts, soy and other allergens. We highly recommend you notify your guests of this risk. We are not responsible for any allergic reactions due to consumption of our cake products. Please refer to our allergy product labels on cake packaging, or phone us for more details.
